LIFEBUOYS

The Lifebuoy collection began as a way to take all of the elements considered the most interesting or beautiful because of their colour or texture and to bring them together as geometric forms into a single composition. Visually they are balanced, and able to evoke a feeling or character of a particular location at the time when the artist felt inspired.

 

The unique textural surface of the waves uses light and shadow to bring the work to life. It is an important factor, and a natural daylight source allows changes throughout the day, whereas direct artificial light from above increases contrast and control. ​
