RNLI
The RNLI is the charity that saves lives at sea. Powered primarily by donations, the search and rescue service has been saving lives for 200 years.
RNLI lifeboat crews protect hundreds of communities around the UK and Ireland through the 24-hour search and rescue service. To do so, they rely on the safest, most reliable lifeboats and modern stations to launch from.

"I felt inspired to create the SEA CIRCLES by the incredible work of the RNLI.. The ideas flowed freely. My preliminary sketches became reality.
The original artwork has been displayed in the RNLI Falmouth shop for 12 months and on July 19th they are to be auctioned to raise funds for my local FALMOUTH lifeboat station.
Each piece has been created using high quality materials and with my commitment to innovation and excellence.

They are presented in a contemporary, white painted, wood floating frame and with a Certificate of authenticity."

THROUGH THE LIFEBUOY | LIFEBOATS
40 x 40 cm
mixed media & plaster relief
"The deep, dark water highlights the power and ferocity of the sea ; the fearful conditions brave lifeboat crew encounter and endure to save lives.
The sea mist symbolises the unknown; unaware of what each shout will bring.

The lifebuoy is a recurring element of my work. It not only represents the object, and its purpose, it symbolises the danger of the ocean.
Yellow and red lines are painted on the lifeboat and the Royal National Lifeboat Institution flag needs no explanation. I used my plaster relief white line as my signature and to add visual interest.
Your gaze is drawn through the dynamic colour and feeling of the outer painting and into the eye of the storm.

THE CIRCULAR FORM OF THE SEA CIRCLE BRINGS A FEELING OF MOTION; THE EBB AND FLOW OF TIDES AND WAVES"

LIFEGUARDS | BEACH FLAGS
40 x 40 cm
mixed media & plaster relief
"The beautiful turquoise water is joyful and unthreatening.... but must be respected.
The Lifeguards play a vital role, ensuring warnings are given and are trained to save lives when required.
The three beach safety flags were incorporated into the design.
The red and yellow flag has smooth plaster on the yellow section to add visual interest and the black and white is shown in only a ring. It was important for the scale to be accurate in relation to the surround, but all the information is there. The red ring represents the danger flag."
